Matriki Beach Huts

Matriki offers a simple beachfront accommodation option on the beautiful island of Aitutaki for budget holidaymakers or backpacker vacations. The property faces the sunset. Comprising one separate hut and two accommodation huts in a double storey construction, Matriki Beach Huts offer a cost-effective alternative to the luxury resorts. The facilities are not five-star but the location is beautiful. Transfers to and from the airport can be arranged.

  •  Located on the western side of Aitutaki, at the northern end, about 4 km from the main town of Arutanga.
  •  1 beach hut. 1 garden hut. Plus 1 double-storey unit (with downstairs unit and upstairs unit).
  •  Approximately NZ$65 to NZ$75 per couple per night. Or NZ$50-55 per person.



Meals and Dining

The huts come with basic cooking facilities and the grocery stores, wharf and town centre are a short ride away. There are also several restaurants within walking distance.

Activities and Sightseeing

Matthias and Riki are there to arrange your Aitutaki activities during your stay.

  • Scooter and bike hire is available and can be arranged for you.
  • Cruises on the lagoon can also be arranged.
  • The beach at Matriki is fine white sand, with swimming at low and high tides.
  • Excellent snorkelling is found right off the beach.
  • The beach is facing west and enjoys wonderful Aitutaki sunsets.
  • Matthias has a 23 ft outrigger sailing canoe and can organise exciting boating adventures, including snorkelling, sailing, turtle and whale watching, or trips to remote motus.
